#PeiPasi: A Film Completely Shot Inside A Departmental Store

Srinivas Kavinayam’s film #PeiPasi has been shot completely inside a departmental store, revealed the first-time director at the film’s audio launch on Thursday.

“People claim that it’s the first film in India to be shot inside a supermarket, but I don’t know if it’s true,” joked the director. The film is pegged to be a horror-thriller focusing on a series of incidents that happen in one single day. The director had created a set resembling a store with the help of  art director K Madhan, who is also making his debut with this film.

Hari Krishna Baskar, the lead actor of the film, added, “We have recorded live sounds, there is no dubbing involved.”

Actor Arya, composer Srikanth Deva, director Venkat Prabhu, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, director Nalan, Karthik Raja, director Kiruthiga Udhaiyanidhi, Hema Rukmani, composer Santhosh Narayanan were present at the the event on Thursday.

The film’s cast and crew involve a bunch of newcomers, starting from the director to the other technicians like editor, art directors and so on. Hari Krishna Baskar, son of producer RD Baskar, is also the executive producer of the film. He said he took up acting as per his father’s wish.

Produced by Srinithi Sagar under the banner Rise East Creations, the music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, while the background score is by Santhosh Narayanan. The film will also have a song sung by Vijay Sethupathi.

The story revolves around four friends who are hiding inside a departmental store. Things go haywire once Karunakaran, who plays a cop, comes in and starts shooting at them.

While the film is yet to get a release date, the production company has announced their next projects, one with director Arun and another horror film with Chandru KR.
