This news comes days after Justice JK Ilanthireyan of the Madras High Court granted Meera Mitun anticipatory bail, on condition that she will appear at the Teyanampet police station for two weeks and deposit the Rs 50,000 that she allegedly cheated a designer of.

Meera had moved the bail plea claiming that the payment was for sponsorship and the cheque given by the complainant Ranjitha Bandari got dishonoured, and said the complaint was filed due to professional enmity. She promised to co-operate with the investigation.

According to sources, police officers from Egmore station went to the Bigg Boss house this afternoon for certain formalities connected to the investigation. Silverscreen contacted the producers of the show at Vijay TV and is awaiting a response.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the police looking into the case was seeking the arrest of Meera and may go to the House. In May, the designer had alleged that Meera cheated her by using Miss Tamil Nadu title – the beauty pageant conducted by her –  alongwith Miss South India logo and title, which she won in 2016. Meera later responded to the case against her by filing a complaint saying that she and 14 participants of the pageant were receiving death threats from the designer. The designer also approached the organisers of Miss South India pageant with a copy of the complaint, and they took the title back from Meera.

Meera Mitun made a wild card entry into the Bigg Boss house, two days after the show began on June 23. She has been one of the most talked-about contestants this season.

The first police entry earlier this month was to meet Vanitha Vijaykumar for a kidnapping case filed by her ex-husband who accused her of keeping their daughter in hiding. An enquiry was conducted, and her daughter was reportedly brought into the House. She said she was happy to stay with her mother. The police decided they would resume the case after Vanitha left the show.

Vanitha was the second contestant to be evicted from the show even though it was speculated that Bigg Boss would not remove her to keep the TRP of the show going.
