Actress Poonam Bajwa is all set to play the female lead in GV Prakash-starrer, Kuppathu Raja. The film will mark the directorial debut of choreographer Baba Bhaskar, and will also see Parthiepan in an important role.
The 27-year-old actress confirmed the news in an interview with DC, “I have been waiting for good projects to come my way for sometime now. When I heard the narration a few months ago, I really liked the story and my role too.”

The Aranmai 2 actress will play the role of an Anglo-Indian girl; the movie is set in a slum. While Poonam added that she cannot reveal much about her character right now, she however said that it will be a “sweet, subtle role”.
About her co-star GV Prakash, Poonam said: “Although it has been only a couple of days since I started working with him, I feel he is very grounded and unassuming. We have many combination scenes in the film, and I am looking forward to the rest of the shoot.”
Kuppathu Raja has cinematographer Velraj, editor Praveen KL and art director Kiran as part of the technical team, and GV himself will be composing music for the movie.
