Prakash Raj has confirmed that he is a part of the Traffic Ramaswamy biopic that stars SA Chandrasekhar. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the actor said that he was delighted to be part of such a film.
“It is a strong role and I consider it to be a big honor to be part of the film, which is about a well-known and a fearless social activist Traffic Ramasamy sir,” he said.
The film has SA Chandrasekhar playing the activist, and also stars actress Rohini, RK Suresh, Upasana, along with some cameo roles starring Vijay Antony, S Ve Shekar, Kasthuri, Manobala and Madan Bob. The film is directed by Vijay Vikram who had been SAC’s assistant for a few years now.
SAC was last seen on screen last year – in Nayyapudai with Pa Vijay and in Kodi with Dhanush and Trisha. In 2015, he directed, wrote, produced and acted in Touring Talkies, a film with two stories. The movie failed to do well at the box-office.

He is known for directing movies with a social cause, and the film on Traffic Ramaswamy might work, considering the social activist has filed many Public Interest Litigations (PILs) in the Madras High Court. His activism has resulted in the demolition of some illegal constructions in Chennai, restrictions on motorised fish carts and decongestion of major bus routes by banning auto rickshaws from plying on them.
The activist also once filed a PIL against the then Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, seeking removal of the name ‘Amma’, as she was popularly called, from Government schemes.
