Pranav, son of superstar Mohanlal is currently working as an Assistant Director in the Tamil remake of Drishyam with Jeethu Joseph. Tentatively titled Papanasam, the shooting of the Kamal Haasan film is progressing in Chennai now. “Pranav is very quiet on the sets. Unless someone reminds me, I often forget that he is Mohanlal’s son. He is very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of cinema,” says Jeethu Joseph. Pranav’s uncle Suresh Balaji is producing the film. It is hardly a surprise that the 24-year-old chose direction over acting as he has always maintained that he aspired to be behind the camera. Having said that he has shown his acting prowess as a child and even won a state award in 2002 for the Malayalam film Punarjani. He has also been part of his dad’s films like Onnaman and Sagar Alias Jacky.
