‘Prathi Poovan Kozhi’ Trailer: Manju Warrier Gears Up For A Dark Final Fight

The trailer of ‘Prathi Poovan Kozhi‘, directed by Rosshan Andrrews and starring Manju Warrier, was released on social media by Dulquer Salmaan on Sunday evening. The film, set to release in the Christmas week, is based on a short story by Unni R. The writer has also written the film’s screenplay.

The 1:35 minute long trailer hints that Prathi Poovan Kozhi is an edgy and dark thriller, centred on Madhuri (Manju Warrier), a sales woman in Kottayam city. Red seems to be the prominent colour in every scene. The trailer opens to Madhuri saying, “I am afraid too. But fear cannot tie me down!”, cut to a shot of her angrily confronting a man.

This is Manju’s second project with Andrrews who directed her comeback film, How Old Are You (2012). Produced by Gokulam Gopalan, has Andrrews playing a pivotal role. In an interview with Silverscreen.in, Andrrews said,“The film deals with a very relevant subject. Manju’s character will touch a chord with every woman… After Kayamkulam Kochunni, which was a period drama, I wanted to do a realistic film, about people leading ordinary lives. I have always been fascinated by that genre.”

About making his acting debut, Andrrews said, “I like to act and make people act. I was a part of drama club in college. Colleagues like Nivin Pauly, Jude Anthony and Abrid Shine have, in the past, approached me with acting opportunities. But I turned them down as acting was never a part of my plan in cinema. I decided to give it a try now because it’s my film and the character suits me.”
