According to a press release, the upcoming film is set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh. “This film comes from a personal space and is very close to me. It is the story of the dignified struggle of a common man to get his land back. The story revolves around a normal middle-class family and it deals with the system, power, and the abused theory of law,” Pulkit said in a statement.

“The story of this film is simple yet very real. This is a film that millions of people of our country will resonate with,” added producer Bhushan Kumar.

The actors have already started with their look tests and preparations in Mumbai and will begin shooting for the film on August 18.

While the upcoming film is Gandhi and Mehta’s second outing after Scam 1992, it will be their first collaboration with Kumar.

This project is Kumar’s second film. She recently wrapped up the shoot of her debut, a psychological thriller, with R Madhavan and Aparshakti Khurana.

Meanwhile, Gandhi will also be seen in a handful of other projects, including the web series Six Suspects, alongside Richa Chadha, and a film with Taapsee Pannu tentatively titled Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan.
