Priya Bhavani Shankar May Be Part of ‘Vikram 58’


Reports say that Priya Bhavani Shankar has signed up for director Ajay Gnanamuthu’s upcoming film with Vikram, tentatively titled Vikram 58. There is also news that she has been approached for director Shankar’s Indian 2. Her third big film under production is Karthick Naren’s Mafia, starring Arun Vijay and Prasanna.

It was reported this week that she was approached for Vikram 58, and has given her nod. However, sources close to the film maintain that an official announcement must be awaited. Silverscreen has reached out to the actress and will update the copy when she responds.

The shoot for the film begins in August and a release is scheduled for April 2020.

The director recently also put out a casting call for the film.

As reported recently, Priya may star opposite actor Siddharth in Indian 2, which is headlined by Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal. Rakul Preet Singh and Aishwarya Rajesh were also approached for the part and their character sketches were narrated, it is said. The actress for the role is yet to be finalised.

Priya was last seen in Nelson Venkatesan’s Monster co-starring SJ Suryah. The film released in May and opened to good reviews.

Earlier this month, she came on board Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru director Karthick Naren’s Mafia. According to a report by, all actors will be cast in never-seen-before roles and the shoot for the film will wrap up in a month. Prasanna is the antagonist in the film, produced by Lyca.

Priya is busy with her other films, including Chimbu Deven’s multi-starrer Kasada Thapara, produced by Venkat Prabhu and R Ravindran. The film also stars Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Sundeep Kishan, Harish Kalyan, Regina Cassandra, Premgi Ameran and Vijaylakshmi. 

She has Vaan, Kuruthi Aattam, and a film with Jiiva and Arulnithi under production, and is reportedly part of Indru Netru Naalai 2, the sequel of the 2015 film, starring Vishnu Vishal and Karunakaran.
