Priya Bhavani Shankar will reportedly play one of the leads in Dulquer Salmaan’s Vaan, directed by debutant Ra Karthik. The actress was last seen with Karthi in director Pandiraj’s Kadaikutty Singam.

According to a report in Cinema Express, Priya Shankar, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbanda play the three female leads. However, this has not been confirmed by the actor or the makers.

Pitched as a romantic thriller with a travel-based script, the film went on floors in December 2018.

The film is produced by J Selvakumar under the banner of Kenanya films, and is based on a road trip from Chennai to Kolkata. Music is composed by Dheena Dayalan. Cinematography is by George C Williams, and Sreekar Prasad is the editor.

It is said that the film will be shot in multiple locations in and around Chennai, Coimbatore, Gobichettipalayam, Goa, Gangtok, Coimbatore, and Kolkata.

Priya Bhavani Shankar, a news anchor turned actor, made her debut venture with Meyadha Maan, starring alongside Vaibhav, directed by Rathna Kumar. The film was Karthik Subbaraj’s production venture. She plays the lead in the upcoming film Kuruthi Aattam, with Atharvaa, directed by Sri Ganesh. She has Monster with SJ Suryah, directed by Nelson Venkatesan, and Angel with Udhayanidhi Stalin. She also stars in an upcoming web series with Bharath.

Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan, who was last seen in 2017’s Solo, has another Tamil film – Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal in the making. A romantic comedy, the movie has the actor paired opposite Pelli Choopulu fame Ritu Varma. Having made his Hindi debut this year with Karwaan, the actor also has The Zoya Factor in the making. Based on the novel of the same name by Anuja Chauhan, the movie features Sonam Kapoor in the lead role.

He also has the Malayalam movie Oru Yamandan Premakadha directed by BC Boufal, who is making his directorial debut.
