Priyanka Chopra-Farhan Akhtar’s ‘The Sky Is Pink’ To Release In October

Director Shonali Bose’s upcoming movie The Sky Is Pink, starring Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim and Farhan Akhtar, will release on October 1. The movie is a real-life story based on the life of the motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary.

Akhtar and Chopra play father to Zaira Wasim’s Aisha Chaudhary in the film. Chaudhary was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis – an immune deficiency disorder affecting the lungs at an early age. Forced to quit school, Chaudhary turned to deliver motivational speeches at the age of 15. She published her book My Little Epiphanies before she died at the age of 18.

Shonali Bose, who previously directed Margarita With A Straw, said that the final schedule of the film will happen in Mumbai from March 1 to March 12. Following this, the makers will shoot a wedding sequence in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, reported ET. The movie went on floors in August last year and the second schedule began in London in October.

According to The Indian Express, The Sky Is Pink won the Script Pool Award at the Tallinn & Baltic Event 2017 Awards. The jury reportedly said, “The script is a complex narrative about fate. How does a girl who is suffering from a life-threatening disease feel? Aisha tells us her fate in a nonlinear way as a love story of her parents. The script is about to become an extraordinary experience that can truly inspire, challenge and entertain audiences when it is further developed in a consequent way.”

The Sky Is Pink marks Priyanka Chopra’s return to Bollywood after a gap of three years. She last appeared in Prakash Jha’s 2016 movie Jai Gangaajal, after which she moved to Hollywood to pursue a career. The actress has since appeared in a string of Hollywood shows and movies including Baywatch and Quantico.

The film also brings back Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra together after their 2015 film Dil Dhadakne Do.
