Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Nana Patekar, Shefali Shah and Om Puri will dub for the Hindi version of the live-action film, Jungle Book.
Priyanka Chopra, who has dubbed for a character in a 2013 animation film, Planes, is all set to be the voice of Kaa, the python. Kaa was essayed by Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson in the original. Veteran actor Nana Patekar will lend voice to Shere Khan, the tiger which is villain in the story. The character is played by Idris Elba in the original. Patekar had dubbed for Shere Khan in Doordarshan’s animated TV series the Jungle Book: The Adventures of Mowgli which was telecast in early 1990s.

Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau, is a modern take on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless classic of the same title, originally published in 1894. It narrates the story of Mowgly, a human child raised by a wolf in an Indian forest.
Another important character, the bear named Baloo, will be essayed by actor Irffan Khan. In the original, the character had actor Bill Murray’s voice. Shefali Shah will dub for Raksha, the wolf, which was portrayed by Lupita Nyong’o in the Hollywood film. Actor Om Puri and Ben Kingsley are Bagheera, the panther, in the Hindi and English versions respectively.
