Bollywood is every regional cinema star’s dream destination. Well, almost. Reportedly, two of the biggest stars from the Punjabi film industry – Gippy Grewal and Diljit Dosanjh – are gearing up for their Bollywood debut.

While Daljit will be seen in a pivotal role in Abhishek Choubey’s Udta Punjab with Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Gippy is all set to star in Smeep Kang’s Second Hand Husband opposite Govinda’s daughter Tina.
Many stars from south India, Marathi and Bengali have made their Bollywood debut in the recent past. Dhanush, the Tamil cinema superstar, is already a popular face in Bollywood. Bengali actors like Jisshu Sengupta and Parambrata Chatterjee made their Bollywood debut through Piku and Kahaani respectively.
