Pushpa is scheduled to release in theatres on Friday in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada, apart from Telugu. As part of the film’s promotions, the makers had organised a pre-release event at Yousufguda Police grounds in Hyderabad, on Sunday. The event was attended by lead actors Rashmika Mandanna, Allu Arjun, among others and witnessed a massive crowd in participation.

However, as per the complaint filed by Naresh sub-inspector of police, Jubilee Hills and accessed by Silverscreen India, the pre-release event organisers, Mythri Movie Makers, represented by Kishore, had submitted a request to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, for permission to conduct the event at the Police Grounds, which comes under the limits of Jubilee Hills police station. The complaint further stated that the event organisers assured that they issued 5,000 passes to fans and that they would arrange sufficient private security force for maintaining public order and to conclude the event by 10 pm. However, the complaint said that the organisers issued passes and mobilised more than 15,000 people, which caused the “crowd to swell” and behave in an “unruly manner causing threat”. The complaint further states that human life was endangered due to the organisers’ “rash and negligent act”. It further added, “There was every likely hood of stampede. The organizers mislead the police by giving false representation. Hence requested to take necessary action.”

Subsequently, a case under Sections 143 (punishment for unlawful assembly), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 290 (punishment for public nuisance) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

Silverscreen India tried to reach the production company but was unavailable to comment.

Recently, after the cancellation of a meet-and-greet event for Pushpa in Hyderabad, several attending fans were injured. Both lead actors of the film acknowledged the situation and Allu Arjun had said in an event in Chennai “We had decided to organise a fan meet to see people who had come from different places. We could not get the required permissions. Police protection was allowed only for an event of 1,000 people. This caused disappointment among the fans but there is nothing to worry. The team took care of it and the incident was blown out of proportion.”
