Puthiya Tamizhagam Party Sues Kamal And ‘Bigg Boss’; Seeks Rs 100 Crore In Damages

The Puthiya Tamizhagam party has served a legal notice to Kamal Haasan and the Bigg Boss team for hurting the sentiments of the people in the slums. In one of the earlier episodes, Gayathri Raguram had made a derogatory remark at another contestant, Julie. She had called Julie ‘cheri‘ – a term of abuse which means low-class, or caste.

According to a PTI report, Dr Krishnasamy, founder of the party, said, “The  remark made by Gayathri hurt the sentiments of the people of slums as it showed them in poor light. We had demanded an apology from the channel and Kamal Haasan a couple of weeks ago for the inappropriate remark made by Gayathri Raguram. But they failed to do so. We have once again sent them a legal notice, demanding an apology from the channel and Kamal Haasan, within seven days.”

The party has also demanded Rs 100 crore in damages if they fail to apologise within seven days of receipt of the notice.

Kamal Haasan, in a press meet that was conducted earlier this month, said that he did not script the show and so, he cannot be held responsible for anybody’s comments on the show.
