Raashi Khanna Joins Vijay Sethupathi In Director Vijay Chandar’s Next

Raashi Khanna, who was last seen in Adanga Maru, will star with Vijay Sethupathi in the upcoming film by director Vijay Chandar of the Vikram-starrer Sketch fame.

The actress took to her twitter handle to announce the news. She also said that a few more announcements will be made soon.

Said to be a commercial family entertainer, the film will focus on the life of the people in North Madras, similar to Sketch. The director told The Indian Express, “North Madras played a key role in my previous film, and so it does in my next film. Usually, North Chennai has a different look from other parts of the city — be it in terms of the place or the people. There’s so much to explore further.”

“I have been working on this script even before the release of Sketch. Sethu anna and I often bounce off ideas. When I approached him with this one, he liked it. He will be get a makeover in this film, with loads of action sequences. Anal Arasu has lot of interesting ideas about presenting the stunt sequences in a never-seen-before way,” he said about the film.

While the details regarding the remaining cast and crew is a suspense, it has been announced that actor Soori will join the film. This marks his third collaboration with Sethupathi, after Sundarapandiyanand Rummy. Produced by Vijaya Productions, the film will have music composed by D Imman, and cinematography by Velraj. The shoot will commence from March.

On the work front, Raashi Khanna will next be seen playing the lead in Ayogya, directed by debutant Venkat Mohan, alongside Vishal Krishna, and Shaitan Ka Bachcha with Siddharth, directed by Karthik G Krish.

Vijjay Sethupathi has Sindhubaadh with SU Arunkumar, Maamanithan with Seenu Ramasamy, and Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe in various stages of production. The actor will be making his Malayalam debut with Marconi Mathai, also starring Jayaram. In the upcoming Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, he plays the freedom fighter Raaja Pandi.
