The film has a big cast starring GV Prakash and Aishwarya Rajesh as siblings, with a story centred on them. Vikram Prabhu may be seen opposite Aishwarya Rajesh. Madonna Sebastian plays GV Prakash’s lover. Radhika and Sarathkumar will reportedly be seen in important roles.

Radhika previously acted in a supporting role in Mani Ratnam’s 1985 directorial Pagal Nilavu, starring Revathy and Sathyaraj in the lead. Sarathkumar was the lead actor in the Mani Ratnam produced 1993 film Dasarathan.

Mani Ratnam’s production venture Madras Talkies will bankroll the new film, with 96 fame Govind Vasantha as the music composer. Madras Talkies have previously produced films by his former associates – Azhagam Perumal’s Dumm Dumm Dumm and Susi Ganeshan’s Five Star. The film was reportedly planned as a Mani Ratnam directorial, but he couldn’t take it up because of his commitment to Ponniyan Selvam.

Ponniyan Selvam is his dream project announced a decade back, with Vijay, Vikram and Mahesh Babu in the lead, and later with Karthi and Ram Charan. It was recently reported that he is reviving the film with Vikram, Vijay Sethupathi, Jayam Ravi in the lead, and Simbu in an important role similar to his role in Mani Ratnam’s latest Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.

According to a recent report in Cinema Express, Telugu actor Mahesh Babu has been approached for the lead role as planned. A source was quoted saying that the film is a multi-starrer and, “Mohan Babu has agreed in principle to work in the film, but is yet to sign the agreement. The film will be made in several Indian languages and requires his bulk dates.”

The film is expected to begin shoot in 2020. An official statement will be out soon.
