In March, the new administration, under the guidance of Vishal, lodged a complaint against three former trustees of the Nadigar Sangam, including Sarathkumar. Vishal alleged that a mishandling of funds amounting to Rs. 1.65 crore was detected. Following these accusations, the members were temporarily suspended due to their lack of explanation. A FIR was also registered against the suspended members for alleged mishandling of funds. The decision was taken last Sunday in an executive committee meeting.
Meanwhile, the ruling Nadigar Sangam is not exempt from facing such allegations as well. Only last month, Nasser (President) and Vishal were accused of swindling three crore rupees from the Nadigar Sangam fund. Varagi, a member of the Nadigar Sagam and an RTI Activist made these allegations. In addition to this, he also claimed that unwarranted suspensions of members from the former ruling party were a common occurrence in the Nadigar Sangam now.
