A source close to Lawrence told Silverscreen that discussions with director Lingusamy are on, but nothing has been finalised as yet. The film will reportedly be heavy on action scenes.

Lingusamy made his debut with the Mammootty-starrer Aanandham in 2001 and followed it up with films such as Run, Sandakozhi, Deepavali, Paiyaa and Vettai. He later started his own production house Thirupathi Brothers with his brother.

He currently has two films under production, including an untitled Telugu-Tamil bilingual with Allu Arjun written, directed and produced by him. The film was announced back in 2017 but faced delays due to various reasons. He also has director Seenu Ramasamy’s Idam Porul Eval starring Vijay Sethupathi, Vishnu Vishal, Nandita Swetha and Aishwarya Rajesh, which has not released due to financial issues.

Meanwhile, Raghava Lawrence is currently busy with his first Bollywood directorial Laxmmi Bomb, the remake of Kanchana 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead. The film faced roadblocks when he quit the project last month, claiming the first-look poster was released without consulting him. He said it was one among the many issues he had with the team. The issue was widely reported, and the producers met Lawrence in Chennai later and he agreed to come back on board. The producers and actors Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani said on social media they were happy he was back on board.

The Kanchana films so far have seen Lawrence play the lead actor. His last outing, Kanchana 3, earned nearly Rs 30 crore during the opening weekend in Tamil Nadu. Latest reports say that he is in the process of making the fifth film in the franchise Kanchana 4: Muni 5, and is also working on a 3D thriller titled Kaala Bhairava.
