Rajini Responds to HC Notice

Rajinikanth in Pa Pandi sequel

Late last month, city-based film financier Mukanchand Bothra moved the Madras High Court seeking to initiate action against Rajinikanth, alleging that he was the guarantor for the loan borrowed by Dhanush’s father, director Kasthuriraja.

Bothra alleged that Kasthuriraja had borrowed Rs 65 lakh from him with the assurance that if he failed to repay the amount, his son’s father-in-law Rajinikanth would pay it up. He also claimed that Kasthuriraja’s cheque had bounced when presented.

The Superstar, in his reply petition, has stated that he’s ‘suffering from mental agony’ and that his image is ‘being spoiled among the public’. “I fail to comprehend how such a suit is even taken on file. It is liable to be nipped in the bud by this court by rejecting the plaint and imposing heavy cost on the petitioner. It must be a deterrent to such people from abusing process of the court. The suit has been intended to malign and defame me, and extort money,” he said.

Rajinikanth’s next project is with Pa. Ranjith. Reports suggest that Rajini will play the role of an ageing gangster in the film. It has been confirmed that Prakash Raj and Kalaiyarasan of Madras fame will play integral roles in the film, the shooting of which is scheduled to start in August in locations like Malaysia, Hongkong and Thailand.
