Rajinikanth in Pa Pandi sequel

Reports suggest that Dhanush might cast Rajinikanth in Pa Paandi‘s sequel. According to the Indian Express, the Superstar has already given the go ahead, as he was impressed with the first film, and liked how the character is being developed for the sequel.

Dhanush had earlier confirmed he would indeed make a sequel to Pa Paandi, which opened to good reviews last month. “I would be lying if I said no. I have an idea for Pa Paandi 2, but I don’t know when it will happen, or if it will happen at all. Right now, I am just enjoying this phase,” he told the Times Of India

Rajinikanth was quite taken with the film, in which an aging stunt actor finds love and redemption, and suggested that it be remade in Telugu. The Telugu remake is likely to star Rajinikanth’s friend Mohan Babu, and be directed by Subramaniam Siva, who directed Dhanush in Thiruda Thirudi. There were also rumours of a Kannada remake with Manoranjan Ravichandran in the lead, but no official confirmations from either party has been forthcoming.

Dhanush is also producing Rajinikanth’s next film with Pa Ranjith, through the Wunderbar films banner. Meanwhile, Dhanush’s Enai Nokki Payum Thota is ready for release. He is currently filming for Vada Chennai, while also working on the sequel to VIP.

Rajinikanth’s 2.0, scheduled to release later this year has been pushed for next year, to achieve the best possible CGI effects
