On Tuesday morning, an unusual activity on Rajinikanth’s twitter account was noticed. The number of people he followed increased by ten, and we could see that he was following the twitter handles of Kamal Haasan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Riaz K Ahmed (his PRO), Behindwoods and Raju Mahalingam, the head of Lyca Productions.
Hours later, his daughter and director Aishwarya Dhanush clarified that his account had been hacked and that it has been retrieved.
@superstarrajini appa’s account was hacked..handle retrieved. Thank you all 🙂 #AllIsWell

There had not been any tweets that went out from his account during the period, but post recovery, Rajini has unfollowed the accounts that were followed earlier, including Kamal Haasan’s.
Even though Rajinikanth has 3.06 M followers on Twitter, it can be said that he largely remains inactive on the social platform. His last tweet was on 4 February this year, praising Vetrimaaran’s film Visaaranai. Despite the frenzy that surrounded his entry into the microblogging site on the 5 May, 2014, not much happened on his account. 29 tweets later, @superstarrajini is pretty much missing-in-action on Twitter.
The actor has stayed away from the public eye for many years. He does not attend many events, even if they are for his own film. Despite receiving mixed reviews, his latest release Kabali has had a steady run at the theatres for two weeks.
