Rakul Preet Singh, one of Tollywood’s busiest actresses, is making a comeback in Tamil films with a leading role in a film with Vinoth, starring Karthi. Rakul Preet recently opted out of Mysskin’s Thupparivaalan.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, she said, “It is true that I have been roped in to play Karthi’s romantic interest. I will start shooting from March 2017 and I am eagerly looking forward to joining the team.”
Karthi plays a cop in this film. Vinoth had earlier directed the con-film Sathuranga Vettai. Asked about her role, Rakul Preet said “It’s too early to talk about it, but I can guarantee that my role would be crucial to the story.”
Rakul Preet rose to popularity after winning pageant titles in the ‘Miss India’ competition in 2011. She played a supporting role in the Tamil film Thadaiyara Thaaka, before playing the lead in the 2014 film Yennamo Yaedho. This year, she had three successful Telugu films – Nannaku Prematho, Sarrainodu, and Dhruva.
She is currently acting in AR Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu’s Sambhavami, a Tamil–Telugu bilingual.
