Ram Gopal Varma is back to doing what he does the best – making gritty films of the violent underworld but this time it’s a web-series. After his Hindi web-series on the Mumbai mafia – Guns and Thighs, he is back with a Telugu web-series titled Kadapa.
The filmmaker wrote on Facebook, “The title is derived as a summation of what a region stands for in its blood thirstiness a synonym of how violent Power affects the internal politics of ambition, ego, greed and one-upmanship.” He started his research during the making of Rakta Charitra and describes the web-series as “the real violence of Rayalaseema”.
Factionalism, violence and caste politics dominate Andhra Pradesh’s Rayalaseema region especially in Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool districts.
RGV is also working with Nagarjuna after a gap of 25 years for a cop thriller. They had worked together in the Telugu hit film Shiva.
