Dhanush will act in Raatchasan director Ram Kumar’s next. The project is currently being scripted by Ram Kumar, who told Silverscreen that the film will be a fantasy. “But I have added some commercial elements as well to suit Dhanush sir’s image and fan following. I am working on the script right now.”
Ram also said that he hopes to finish the film in around six months’ time once he begins filming. “Time is of essence in every project. It is for everyone’s best interests if we finish this movie in a short time, so that the integrity of the script remains undamaged.”
The story revolves around Dhanush’s character. “It is a unique role for Dhanush sir. I think only he can pull it off. He has this magnetic screen presence that does wonders to the script.” Not much else can be revealed, Ram said. The director’s Raatchasan has released today.
Dhanush is currently working on his second directorial attempt. Reports indicate that the film is set in the pre-independence era. Stars like Srikanth, Nagarjuna, SJ Suryah have been signed on for the movie that is produced by Thenandal Studios Limited.
A spokesperson for the actor confirmed that the new film with Ram Kumar will go on floors later this year. “Dhanush sir is finishing up his commitments to other projects. He will take on the acting opportunity once his directing commitments are done with. Till then, he will focus solely on the directorial with Nagarjuna and SJ Suryah.”
Dhanush’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thota with Gautham Menon is gearing up for a release this Deepavali, while Vada Chennai will hit the screens on October 17 this year.
Director Ram Kumar made his debut with the 2014 hit Mundasupatti that was set in a village with its set of quirks. The film starred Vishnu Vishal and Nandita Sweta in lead roles, with music by Sean Roldan.
