Director Ramanarayanan Passes Away

Director Ramanarayanan passed away on Sunday at a hospital in Singapore. The producer-director holds a world record for having directed the most number of films (125) and has also penned the story and dialogues for movies like Aasai Arubathu Naal, Thenpandi Seemaiyile and Raghupathi Raghavan Rajaraman. Under his banner, Sri Devipriya Films, he has produced many successful movies in Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Gujarati and Kannada as well. His 125th film, Arya Surya, was released last year. The director is well known for making movies in which animals played a big role and sometimes even the lead role.

Ramanarayanan’s mortal remains are expected to reach Chennai at 11 pm tonight; following which the last rites will be performed by his family on Tuesday.
