Ramesh Thilak, last seen in two of Vijay Sethupathi’s films – Soodhu Kaavum (2013) and Orange Mittai (2015) – will reportedly team up with the actor for the third time, in a film that has Gautham Karthik in the lead. Directed by Arumugakumar, the film has Gautham playing the role of a college student, and Vijay playing a tribal leader called Yaman.
Ramesh will play the role of a tribal person along with Vijay. “Sethupathi anna is what I call him. He is like my brother. He is my well-wisher not just professionally, but personally too. It is always a laugh riot working with this actor who is so good at his craft and has no airs about it,” he told The Times of India.

Actor Raj of 2012’s Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame (also a Vijay Sethupathi film) is also playing a crucial role. Raj and Ramesh will be seen as the tribal leader’s close aides. Although a serious subject, there will be a humorous angle to the story too.
This is the first time Vijay Sethupathi will be seen onscreen with Gautham Karthik. The project will be shot mostly in and around Tamil Nadu, and is yet to go on floors.
Meanwhile, Ramesh is also shooting for Imaikkaa Nodigal starring Atharvaa, Nayanthara, and Raashi Khanna and Tik Tik Tik starring Jayam Ravi and Nivetha Pethuraj.
