Simmba is my first collaboration with Rohit Shetty which I know people are really excited about and me more than anyone to be diving into the masala genre with king of the genre. It is an incredible opportunity that I am extremely excited to be commencing shooting in about a month’s time. I will start prep for that film from tomorrow,” he told IANS.

After wrapping Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, the actor headed to Switzerland and has been regularly updating his fans with images from his tour there. He is the first Indian ambassador for Switzerland Tourism and has been making efforts to pique the interest of Indian tourists. The latest photo has him dressed up as comic actor Charlie Chaplin.

Since he is playing the role of a police officer in the film, Rohit Shetty wants the actor to transform his physique and gain more muscles. He will be playing Sangram Bhalerao, a rowdy policeman, starring alongside Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan, and Sonu Sood. The film is reportedly inspired by Jr NTR’s film Temper but the filmmaker, who has also acquired the rights of the same, insists that it is not a remake. Only certain scenes from the original are included in this Hindi action comedy.

Simmba is slated to release on December 28, 2018.
