Actress Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film with Karthi is titled Sultan. The film, directed by Remo director Bhagyaraj Kannan, marks Rashmika’s Tamil debut.

On her Instagram story yesterday, Rashmika posted a picture from the sets and said it was day 4 of shoot.

The film was officially launched in March this year with a pooja. Rashmika said, “I’ve always had such great support from my Kannada and Telugu people…And you have also been asking me to come to Tamil and in 2019…I finally am!! I am so happy to be doing a film with this team. This is a new beginning.”

A press statement from the team said the film is a comedy, action entertainer. Grand set work for the film were erected in Chennai in March. Details about the story have been kept under wraps.

She has a huge following in Tamil Nadu, and had promised in November 2018 that she would make her Tamil debut soon. It was speculated that she was in talks for Bigil, Vijay and Nayanthara’s upcoming film with Atlee. She later clarified that she was not part of the film but hoped to work with Vijay in the future. It is now said that she in talks for Thalapathy 64 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, though this is yet to be confirmed.
