Ravi K Chandran to Direct Hindi Remake of Point Blank

Yaan director Ravi K Chandran is all set to make a Hindi movie. The director has signed on to direct the Hindi version of the French film Point Blank. The official remake rights for Point Blank were bagged by Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment, the production house most famous down South for having bankrolled the Ajith starrer Billa 2.

Point Blank is about a male nurse who saves the wrong guy and is unwittingly lured into a sinister plot. The storyline with its unusual twists and turns makes for the perfect Bollywood remake, according to Ravi K Chandran. In a recent interview, he said, “I watched the movie without subtitles a few years ago and yet I connected to it. Despite it being a foreign movie, it has a strong emotional core that makes it universal. That’s why it will appeal to the Indian audience!”. However, he will not crank the camera for this one instead preferring to ‘leave it to Manush Nandan’. “Manush is currently working on a Bollywood movie and will do this project after that!”. He has also confirmed that a Tamil version would be soon made as well.

With Yaan set to be dubbed in Hindi, this project can hardly be called the directors ‘first Bollywood movie’ but it may be prove to be his most ambitious one yet.
