Regina Cassandra will play a feisty woman in upcoming Tamil film – Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen. The movie has actresses Regina Cassandra and Srushti Dange in major roles along with actor Udhayanidhi Stalin and comedian Soori. D Imman will compose the music.
The movie is directed by Ezhil of Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran fame. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle about Regina’s role, the director said, “She plays a character called Thenmozhi in the film, who leaves her ancestral town in Karaikal and arrives in Bengaluru for several reasons. Regina plays a feisty woman who doesn’t care about anything! There is a constant fight between Udhay and her, right from their childhood. In fact, we also have a song on that.”
Srushti Dange plays the second lead in the movie. She plays Udhayanidhi’s friend from his college days. “Her character is influential and will require five days of her schedule. We will be shooting her portions shortly,” Ezhil said.
The movie is said to be a comedy entertainer much along the lines of the director’s last movie. “Saravanan Iruka Bayamen will focus on the war that goes on between Udhayanidhi and Soori in the film. Even though we have picked locations in some villages of Tamil Nadu, the story line is not a rural subject,” Ezhil told DC.
The movie is produced by Red Giants and is expected to have a Diwali release. The team is currently shooting the film in and around Karaikal and Nagapattinam.
Meanwhile, Regina Cassandra is going through an interesting phase in her acting career. She was recently roped in to play “a glamourous role” in Aankhen 2, marking her Hindi debut. Amitabh Bachchan plays the lead role in this heist thriller. She also has Atharva starrer Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum in the pipeline. She also has Selvaraghavan’s Nenjam Marappathillai lined up for release.
