Regina Cassandra Goes Grunge For Her Telugu Film AWE

Regina Cassandra will soon be seen in a Telugu film titled AWE. Two weeks ago, she shared the first-look of her character who sports tattoos, heavy kohl, and streaks of colour cornrows with a shaved nape. And she also has a septum ring on.

Speaking to The Times of India, the actress said that it had been quite a task to get her look right. Her stylist Shanti and tattoo designers Mo and Vijay reportedly did extensive research before zeroing in on her look. Clearly their research included playing in on stereotypes of the ‘badass’ woman – the cliched tree and dragon tattoos.

She also said that it wasn’t simple for her to hide her look in public. Doesn’t matter, really, considering it’s a pretty standard look for any actress whose character has been given the ‘badass’ tag in commercial Indian cinema.
The film is directed by Prasanth Varma and also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, and Nani.
