Santhosh Dhayanidhi, a relative newcomer in the film industry, is already a part of some big projects. A self-confessed fan of the Resident Evil movies and the games, Santhosh tells Silverscreen that it was the film’s concept that first attracted him.

“I found the idea of making Tamil music for a Hollywood film extremely fascinating. I was informed about this at the last minute. Sent them a rough version of it and soon enough, we managed to complete the song within three-four days. It was quite an experience that way,” he says.

Speaking about roping in Sunitha Sarathy, the composer says he has always been a fan. “Since the film has a woman playing the lead, we decided to have the song based on a woman and how strong she is. I’ve always been a fan of Sunitha and she was the perfect choice for the song. I’ve known her for a while and she never fails to impress,” he said.

Sarathy, a gospel singer best known for “Thoodu Varuma” from Kaakha Kaakha (2002), took to social media to express her excitement, saying that she has always been a fan of the Hollywood actress. “Sang for the title track of Resident Evil – Tamil. I am a huge fan of Mila Jovovich. Waiting to hear the mix,” she wrote.

Dhayanidhi’s other two projects are Enakku Vaitha Adimaigal starring Jai and Pranitha Subhash and Kattapava Kaanom starring Sibi Sathyraj and Aishwarya Rajesh.

Resident Evil: The Last Chapter, the final instalment of the Resident Evil series, is releasing across theatres in India on 3 February. The film stars Mila Jovovich, Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, and Ruby Rose.
