The #MeToo movement has lead to several Hollywood stars coming out and talking about sexual harassment. After producer Harvey Weinstein was charged with rape and sexual assault last month, Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone is now under probe for sexual assault.
The Rocky actor’s attorney Martin Singer said that a woman had filed a police complaint alleging a rape that happened 27 years ago. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office spokesman Greg Risling did not furnish any further details and said that the case was being investigated by the Santa Monica police. “My client categorically disputes the claim,” Singer said in a statement.

However, this is not the first time Stallone is under spotlight for a reason like this. In 1986, Sylvester and his bodyguard Michael De Luca were accused of assaulting a 16-year-old fan, in a hotel room in Las Vegas. The unnamed woman, who was allegedly sexually abused, told the cops that the actor and his bodyguard threatened to beat her up if she uttered a word against them. However, Stallone’s spokeswoman Michelle Bega rubbished all claims and described it as a false story.
Stallone rose to fame in 1976 with his Oscar-winning boxing movie Rocky. He later went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars through the Rambo and Rocky film franchises.
