Debutant director Lakshman’s Romeo Juliet, which starred Jayam Ravi and Hansika, is likely to be remade in Hindi. While there has been no official confirmation, a Times of India report suggests that actor-director Prabhudeva was impressed with the film, and has initiated talks for a remake. Romeo Juliet is a romantic drama with a contemporary interpretation on the classic theme of love.
The film, which was released on July 12, is doing extremely well at the box office in its third week. Critics have praised its realistic depiction of the modern world, and Hansika, in particular, has received praise for having ‘lived’ her role.
Romeo Juliet’s supporting cast includes Madhumila, Shreya Gupta, Vamsi Krishna, Poonam Bajwa, Uma Padmanabhan and VTV Ganesh. Actor Arya features in a cameo. Music director D Imman has composed the music.
