Director Ron Howard has signed on to direct the film adaptation of Neal Stephenson’s Seveneves. The script will be penned by his Apollo 13 writer Bill Broylers.
The 2015 released scifi novel is about an apocalyptic event that threatens to destroy the human race that escapes to distant space. Almost 5000 years later, seven distinct races of the human species embark on yet another journey into the unknown planet, the Earth.
Howard’s Imagine Entertainment will produce the movie along with Dana Goldberg and David Ellison.
