Following his debut film Sadhuram 2, Sumanth Radhakrishanan will be collaborating with writer Jeyamohan for his next film. Sadhuram 2 was inspired by the Hollywood Saw franchise. Talking to Silverscreen about the film, Sumanth said that the genre of his next film will be very different from Sadhuram. “This film is an emotional action thriller. It is about the relationship a gangster shares with a young girl. It is not a common story, nor is it experimental like Sadhuram was. There are many commercial elements to the script: action, emotion, humour, sentiment and thrill,” he said.
Sumanth said that he had approached Jeyamohan with another script before he made Sadhuram 2, but the script did not materialise. “I am a very big fan of Jeyamohan sir and his work. I assisted Subramaniam Siva, who was then working with Jeyamohan on a script called Uloham. That is how I got introduced to him,” said Sumanth.

Sumanth says that the script has been finalized and a couple of producers are interested in taking up the project. Talking about the lead actor, he says, “we need an actor who has the stature and calibre to take this movie forward. The character demands an innate ruggedness, and the ability to emote well. We are in talks with a leading actor, and we will make an announcement once the cast and crew are finalized.”
Jeyamohan, an accomplished novelist has worked in Tamil and Malayalam films like Naan Kadavul, Angadi Theru, Papanasam, and Neerparavai and is currently working on Shankar’s 2.0
