Sai Pallavi’s Look From Maari 2 Revealed

The makers of Maari 2 – the sequel to the 2015 Dhanush starrer Maari – have launched the first look of actress Sai Pallavi’s character – Araathu Anandhi from the movie. Clad in an auto driver’s uniform, the character has been described as one ‘that will be right at the heart of the story.’

Other stills show Sai Pallavi dancing with Dhanush, and with a group of other women auto drivers.

Director Balaji Mohan who had also written and directed the original had tweeted the first look of Dhanush’s character earlier this week. Dhanush reprises the titular role from the original movie that featured Kajal Agarwal as the female lead.

The cast of this film though has two more leading ladies, namely Vidya Pradeep and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. While Om Prakash has been retained as the cinematographer, Yuvan Shankar Raja replaces Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer for the movie.

Jointly produced by Dhanush, Raadhika Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen, the original movie featured popular singer Vijay Yesudas, son of Malayalam singer Yesudas, as the antagonist in the role of Inspector Arjun Kumar.

Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas has been roped in to play the villain. He had made his Tamil debut earlier this year with Abhiyum Anuvum – a romantic drama in which he was paired opposite Pia Bajpai.
