Actor Sai Ram Shankar, brother of filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, has started working on a new project that was officially launched yesterday at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. Titled Vaadu Nenu Kadu, the film will go on the floors soon.

The young actor has not had a hit in the last few years, and announced at the launch that he would henceforth only be known as Ram Shankar. He said that he has decided to drop the “Sai” from his name for numerological reasons.
The film is a multilingual that features Mahima Nambiar as the female lead. The film will be directed by Vinod Vijayan. Reportedly, Ram will be seen as a public prosecutor in the movie. He has previously starred in films such as 143, Danger and Romeo.
