Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’ To Resume Shoot Next Year

Director Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming movie Bharat will resume shoot in the New Year. Starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead, the movie is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father.

The director took to Twitter to make the announcement. He said that team was done with the Delhi and Punjab schedules of the movie. He even wished Salman Khan advance birthday wishes.

Katrina Kaif’s replacement of Priyanka Chopra as the female lead had made news recently. Bharat was supposed to be Chopra’s comeback film after 2016’s Jai Gangaajal. The actress had even confirmed her participation in the project through a tweet.

The director, in his response, confirmed the news through a cryptic tweet that hinted at Chopra’s wedding being her reason to opt out of the project.

The actress got married to Nick Jonas to on December 1. Bharat would have reunited Chopra and Khan a decade after God Tussi Great Ho.

Chopra is currently shooting with Farhan Akhtar for The Sky is Pink directed by Shonali Bose of Margarita with A Straw fame. She has also been roped in for Krrish 4. Her Hollywood projects include A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic?

While Kaif has worked with director Ali Abbas Zafar previously on Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Bharat marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan and the director after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, both of which emerged as one of the highest grosser of Bollywood. Bharat is scheduled to release on Eid next year.
