Salman Khan’s Lawyers Say Actor Kamaal R Khan Sued for Defamatory Remarks, Not ‘Radhe’ Review

Actor Salman Khan‘s legal team clarified on Thursday that the actor had sued self-styled film critic and actor Kamaal R Khan over defamatory remarks made against him and not over a bad review of his latest film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.

In a statement, DSK Legal said, “Kamaal R Khan has put out a series of tweets and videos alleging that Salman Khan has sued him for defamation because the defendant reviewed the film Radhe. This is incorrect. The suit has been filed as the defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand Being Human are involved in fraud, manipulation, and money laundering transactions, that he and Salman Khan Films are dacoits.”

“The defendant has been spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with a view to draw attention to himself. Kamaal R Khan’s lawyer made a statement in court today that Mr Kamaal R Khan ‘will not put any remarks of defamatory nature against plaintiff on social media till next date’. The court has been pleased to pass an order taking into account this statement made by Kamaal R Khan’s lawyer,” the statement said.

On Wednesday, Kamaal R Khan wrote on Twitter that Salman Khan’s team had sued him over his review of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. He also shared the first page of the legal notice sent to him.

Kamaal R Khan had earlier mentioned he wouldn’t be “reviewing” any of Salman Khan’s films in the future. However, in a tweet, he said that he would continue reviewing the actor’s film even if the Radhe actor touched his feet. According to him, the matter will next be heard on June 7.

Radhe, also starring Disha Patani, released on Zee Plex and theatres on May 14.
