Sam CS, who composed the music for the Tamil neo-noir Vikram Vedha, has been roped in to give the background score for Mohanlal’s mystery-thriller Odiyan.
The music director, who rose to fame with Vikram Vedha, has previously composed music for two other movies, Kadalai and Puriyatha Puthir.

“Soon after the release of Vikram Vedha, I got many offers, including the ones from Bollywood. But I am a strong believer that I have to offer a wholesome package to a film rather than being confined to a particular zone. But I couldn’t say no when I was approached for Mohanlal sir’s Odiyan. Its premise is intriguing and laced with non-linear narration,” he said in a press statement.
Talking about Odiyan’s music, he said, “It’s a thriller set against the backdrop of a particular time period and region, which gave me an instant idea to utilise the ancient ethnic musical instruments of Kerala.”
Odiyan, will see M Jayachandran as the music director, while Sam is composing the background score. He is also working on Karu, Gorilla, Adanga Maru, Mr Chandramouli, Vanjagar Ulagam and a few other projects.
