The trailer of the film released recently, garnering more than 2 million views in a day.
The story is a feel-good comedy about a 70-year-old woman, played by Lakshmi, who finds herself in the body of a woman in her 20s (Samantha), and has an adventurous journey reliving her youth.
The trailer promises a fun ride. Rao Ramesh, Naga Shaurya and Snigdha play important roles. Adivi Sesh has a cameo as the protagonist’s husband who dies at a young age.
The film is an official remake of Miss Granny, a South Korean comedy directed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk. It has been in production since November last year. The title initially also came with the tagline Yentha Sakkagunnave, inspired by the popular song from Samantha’s Rangasthalam.
Music is composed by Mickey J Meyer, cinematography is by Richard Prasad and editing by Junaid Siddiqui. The film releases on July 5.
A Tamil version will also release simultaneously. Samantha’s voice for the Tamil film has been dubbed by Chinmayi. This is her first dubbing project in Tamil after the ban by the Dubbing Union headed by Radha Ravi was lifted by a court in Chennai recently.
