Three years after the release of Goli Soda, director Vijay Milton has now begun shooting for its sequel, Goli Soda 2. The filming is proceeding at a brisk pace, with a bunch of young actors in the lead. The latest to join the cast is National Award winning actor Samuthirakani.
Speaking to Silverscreen, Vijay Milton said, “Samuthirakani has shot for a couple of days in the first schedule and he will join us again for the second schedule next month. In the first part of Goli Soda, there was a pivotal character called ATM. In Goli Soda 2 Samuthirakani’s role will be on the lines of ATM’s character. He is such a fine actor and a good friend of mine. He will anchor the film in this crucial role.”
Goli Soda, which had dialogues written by director Pandiraj, was about a group of teenagers, who start an eatery in their area, aiming to making it big. The film was a super hit, and was critically acclaimed as well.
Samuthirakani is currently directing a multi-lingual film, Kitna. On the acting front, he is playing a pivotal role in the Rajinikanth-starrer, Kaala. The actor is currently shooting with the Kaala team in the city.
