Sangamithra’s first look was launched at Cannes recently. The film’s core team – comprising actors Jayam Ravi, Arya and Shruti Haasan, were on hand to help director Sundar C release the film’s posters. The event also marked composer AR Rahman’s Cannes debut.
A spokesperson for the film told Silverscreen, “The film is great adventure and it is only fitting that the team themselves had so much fun launching the first look at Cannes. It is a great setup and the film generated a lot of interest among the international buyers.”
Said to be made on a budget of Rs 250 Crores by Thenandal Studios, the film follows a warrior-princess’ (Sangamithra played by Shruti Haasan) efforts to save her kingdom from marauders. Jayam Ravi plays a Prince while Arya is a pirate, according to reports.
