Sangeetha Makes Her Comeback With Vijay Anthony’s ‘Tamilarasan’

Actor Sangeetha of the TV show Enga Veettu Mapillai fame, will make her comeback to cinema with the upcoming Vijay Antony-starrer Tamilarasan, directed by Babu Yogeswaran. The film stars Remya Nambeesan as the female lead, and Sonu Sood and Suresh Gopi as the antagonists.

Sangeetha, a singer and actor in Malayalam and Tamil films, was last seen in Neruppu Da and Mupparimanam in 2017. She was well-known for her supporting roles in Khadgam and Pithamagan, and also played the lead in Dhanam, whose director G Shiva’s wife, S Kousalya Rani, is producing Tamilarasan.

Details about Sangeetha’s character in Tamilarasan are yet to be revealed. The first look poster of the film which released in January featured Vijay Antony holding a pistol, standing in the backdrop of demolished buildings. He is said to play a cop who is out to seek revenge.

Recently, it was reported that Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi is also making his Tamil comeback with this Vijay Antony film. He might be seen as a doctor-villain, similar to the role he played in Shankar’s Vikram starrer I, where he eventually suffers a worse plight than the one he inflicts on Vikram’s character.

Other actors in Tamilarasan are Bhumika, Munishkanth, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, and director Mohan Raja’s son, Pranav. Vijay Antony, who usually composes the music for all his films, is working with Ilaiyaraaja to compose for Tamilarasan. The producers of the film are SNS Movies. RD Rajasekar is the cinematographer, and Bhuvan Srinivasan is the editor. The stunt choreography is by Anal Arasu.

Director Babu Yogeswaran previously directed Daas in 2005, starring Jayam Ravi and Renuka Menon. The film was about an inter-caste couple who elope to get married. The music for the film was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and it starred Vadivelu, Livingston, Adithya Menon, Shanmugarajan, and Monica in supporting roles.
