Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is planning to revive his 2002 heist drama Kaante, and directing a sequel to the film that starred Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Lucky Ali, and Kumar Gaurav.

According to a Mid-Day report, Gupta is keen on roping in Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham for the sequel. While the film is still in its initial stages, the rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon.
Kaante, an action-thriller, is a remake of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs (1992). The film, employing a similar premise from the original, is about six criminals of India-origin who are caught by the LA cops and interrogated after a truck full of laptops are stolen. The film was a success at the box office with one week earnings of £10.9 million (India).
