Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai Is Coming Back As Web Series

Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, one of the most popular sitcoms on Indian television, is gearing up for a return. The sitcom, which was directed by Devan Bhojani and aired on Star TV in 2005, will make a comeback as a web series, according to a Mumbai Mirror report.

The sitcom revolved around an affluent Gujarati family, the Sarabhais, living in a posh Mumbai apartment. Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Sumeet Raghavan and Rupali Ganguly played the lead roles, and Season One went on for 70 episodes.

Its comeback was announced right after the cast and makers got together at Satish Shah’s residence in Mumbai on June 28. “We have received so much support from fans online, some of whom have even volunteered to finance the show if it returns. During the discussion, we agreed that none of us wanted a never-ending TV series but a shorter term online was a good idea. Once I return from my vacation, I will finalise the script and we will move on from there, ” JD Majethia, the show’s producer, was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

The report added that actor Nasuruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak’s husband, might play a guest role in the web series. “Naseer (Naseeruddin Shah) doesn’t usually attend parties but he was also celebrating with us till 4 am and said he’d love to come on the show as a guest. The only reason we are being so careful is because we don’t want to do anything rash. Sarabhai is not about individual characters, we are an iconic family,” the report quoted Satish Shah.
