Aayirathil Iruvar, an action entertainer directed by Saran and starring Vinay Rai, will finally release this year. According to Saran, plans are on to release the film on February 24 or sometime in March.
The film was launched in 2014, and also stars actresses Samuthrika, Swastika, and Kesha Kambati.

Saran told Deccan Chronicle that the delay was due to issues related to securing the financing for the film. “All the producers in the industry are going through a rough patch right now. Making a film is not as easy as it used to be. After the satellite market crash, it has become harder for the makers. Especially, the moderate-budget movies suffer a lot more than the low and high budget films.”
Aayirathil Iruvar is based on hawala (illegal) transactions. Like Saran’s previous films (Modhi Vilayadu and Asal), the film will have a liberal dose of comedy.
