While Vijay fans were in all appreciation of the new poster, turns out that the poster has sparked controversy for showing the actor ‘smoking’.

Politician Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss took to Twitter to express his views about the poster and said that the film was trying to promote smoking. He further said that Vijay would look more stylish without a cigarette in his mouth. Sharing the film’s poster, he tweeted:

Shame on Actor Vijay for promoting Smoking in this first look of his next movie.

This is not the first Vijay-Murugadoss film which is under fire for posters showing the actor with a cigarette. Vijay’s earlier film Thupakki also had him smoking on the poster, which sparked off controversy.

Speaking about the issue, director Murugadoss earlier told The Times of India: “The poster was used only for promotional purposes and no such scene features in the film. Even a small sequence that we had shot with Vijay smoking has been deleted from the film”.
