Actor Sathyaraj has reportedly been approached to play the villain in Vijay 59. The film is directed by Atlee, who also directed him in Raja Rani. A Deccan Chronicle report suggests that while the actor hasn’t officially confirmed his participation, sources close to the director are confident of having him on board. Oddly, other reports suggest that director Mahendran will play the villain.
Sathyaraj’s performance in Atlee’s maiden film Raja Rani had won the actor much critical acclaim and is widely considered to be his career-best role. Sathyaraj portrayed a lovable dad in the film. This, combined with his successful stint in the Hindi film Chennai Express, has made him one of the most sought after actors in the industry.
Shooting of the tentatively titled Vijay 59 has already begun. The film features Vijay, Samantha, Amy Jackson, Prabhu, Radhika and Mahendran.
Sathyaraj is currently working on Jackson Durai, Baahubali and Night Show.
